I have never worked with royal icing before. I know I will need a lot of practice, but on a happy note the icing consistency was perfect! The only thing I have to work on is technique. I found a great sugar cookie recipe on Annie’s Eats.
The dough came out really well and it was easy to work with!

The cookies came out well and sturdy after 8 min of baking , any less and they are too soft.

I started icing the cookies completely but then decided to try my hand at piping.
My experimentation with piping, by the way the icing is in a zip lock bag with one tiny corner cut off.

I found this royal icing recipe online from http://www.joyofbaking.com/RoyalIcing.html. I used the egg whites and powdered sugar recipe.
