Cook Book: Cooking Light the essential dinner tonight
I loved the sweet potatoes in this recipe and it complimented the steak well. It has taken forever to sit down and write about it that I have forgotten what it tasted like. I know we really enjoyed the steak and we did not have any left overs. You can always tell if we really enjoyed something if there are no left overs. 🙂 I hope you will try it sometime.
Cumin-Coriander Sirloin Steak
1 T brown sugar
1/2 t salt
1/2 t ground cumin
1/2 t ground coriander seeds inches thick
1/4 t ground red pepper
1 pound boneless sirloin steak ( about 1 1/4 ) , trimmed
1. Preheat oven to 450. 2. Place an 8 in cast iron skillet in oven for 5 minutes; remove from oven and coat pan with cooking spray. 3. Combine brown sugar and next 4 ingredients in a small bowl; rub brown sugar mixture evenly over both sides of steak. Place steak in preheated pan. 4. Bake at 450 for 7 minutes on each side or until desired degree of doneness. Let steak stand 5 minutes; cut steak diagonally across grain into thin slices.
